Country Desk, Delhi Magazine: A wave of anger has swept across India following a terrorist attack on devotees in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack, which targeted a bus carrying pilgrims, resulted in nine deaths and 41 injuries, prompting nationwide calls for stringent action against the perpetrators.
Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan shared his condolences on social media, stating, “My heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the attack in Reasi. We, as a country, stand together in this hour of grief. My prayers are with all of you in this difficult time.”

In response to the attack, a significant manhunt is underway to locate the terrorists involved. Eleven security teams have cordoned off the Pony Teryath area, intensifying searches and declaring high alert in the Jammu and Rajouri districts. The attack occurred on Sunday when terrorists ambushed a 53-seater bus carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra, causing the bus to plunge into a ditch near Teryath village.
Reports indicate that four terrorists, including a local collaborator, executed the attack under the direction of Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abu Hamza. Security forces suspect Pakistani terrorists are hiding in the hilly regions of Rajouri and Reasi, receiving instructions from Pakistan’s ISI via secure communications. Surveillance operations have been ramped up, with drones, sniffer dogs, and a helicopter deployed to monitor the area.
Among the injured, 10 suffered bullet wounds, with bus driver Vijay Sharma succumbing to multiple gunshot injuries. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), State Investigation Agency (SIA), and Forensic Department have begun their investigations at the scene.
As the nation grapples with the tragedy, there is a collective demand for justice and stronger measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
