Global Country Leaders Congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Third Time Election Victory

Delhi Magazine, International Desk: In the wake of the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) triumph in the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is receiving a wave of congratulations from global leaders. This electoral success marks Modi’s third consecutive term as Prime Minister, with his party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), securing 240 seats and the NDA coalition garnering a total of 293 seats.

Presidents from Sri Lanka, Maldives, Iran, Seychelles, and Prime Ministers from Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Mauritius have extended their best wishes. On Wednesday, both Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden joined in congratulating Modi.

President Biden expressed his congratulations on ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter, stating, “Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National Democratic Alliance, and about 650 million voters on the victory in this historic election. As we open the door to a shared future with unlimited possibilities, the friendship between our countries is increasing.”

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also posted on ‘X’, “Congratulations to Shri Narendra Modi and the National Democratic Alliance on their victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha general election. The US looks forward to furthering its partnership with the Government of India and appreciates the estimated 650 million voters who exercised their right to vote.”

Similarly, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller highlighted the significance of the elections, describing them as the largest democratic process in human history. He emphasized the US’s eagerness to continue partnering with India on various fronts, including promoting prosperity, innovation, tackling the climate crisis, and ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

South Korean President Yun Suk Yol tweeted his congratulations, commending the unwavering faith of the Indian people in Modi’s leadership. He expressed hope for further strengthening the special strategic partnership between Korea and India.

Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe congratulated Modi, noting the Indian people’s faith in progress and prosperity under Modi’s leadership. Wickremesinghe looked forward to further enhancing the partnership between Sri Lanka and India.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson conveyed Beijing’s anticipation of “healthy and stable China-India relations.” Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong called the NDA’s victory “historic” and expressed eagerness to collaborate with India in celebrating the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations next year.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also congratulated Modi, expressing his wish for India-Israel relations to reach “new heights.” China’s Ambassador to India, Shu Feihong, hoped for strong and stable China-India relations following Modi’s victory.

Additionally, leaders from across Africa, including Nigeria, Kenya, and Comoros, as well as Caribbean nations like Jamaica, Barbados, and Guyana, have sent their congratulations. The Prime Minister of Malaysia and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also extended their best wishes to Modi and the NDA.

President Zelensky acknowledged the importance of India’s role in global affairs and expressed hope for continued cooperation between Ukraine and India. He emphasized the global recognition of India’s significance and the need for collective efforts to ensure a fair environment for all countries.

As PM Modi prepares for his third term, the global community’s response underscores India’s pivotal role on the world stage and the broad international support for its democratic process.
